Small-Diameter Gravure Coater
The small-diameter gravure coater is used for thin film coating. The method here involves, with a small-diameter gravure roll, a doctor blade, a liquid pan, and a pump, rotating the gravure roll in the opposite direction from the flowing direction of the base material to create a pool of liquid between the base material and the gravure roll to be used for coating.
Features
- Ultra-thin film coating with a wet thickness of 1 μm.
- The film thickness of a single gravure roll can be slightly adjusted by changing the peripheral speed of the gravure roll.
- Without any backup roll, no liquid is on the backside.
- Coatings with a thickness of 1 to 50 µm.

Roll Volume (Type of Engraving)
Oblique

This can be used when the coating liquid is highly viscous and more transferring is required. A doctor blade can be used together.
